A gold and platinum, Kashmir sapphire and diamond ring by J.E. Caldwell, a cushion-cut 2.71ct blue sapphire at its centre, framed at four corners by small diamond accents and flanked on either side by a round old-cut diamond, weighing a total of 1.95cts, to diamond-set shoulders, the diamonds mounted in platinum, the sapphire claw-set in gold, to a gold gallery and shank. Signed JEC + CO and numbered. Ring size 5.5 (US) or K? (UK). Circa 1910.
Accompanied by an AGL report stating that the sapphire is of Kashmir origin with no indication of heat treatment.
